It's Contagious.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and knew you were in the presence of someone and something special? Well…when you do, it’s a pretty powerful moment. I met a bride for my show, “My Fair Wedding” this past week and she took my breath away. Her strength, positive outlook on life, and her passion for living in the moment is extremely powerful. There was a moment when looking at her that I began to cry, because she was radiant with that special something, that special feeling, the energy that is powerful. Kimberly was diagnosed at a young age with stage three breast cancer, has undergone a double mastectomy, and she elected to have her ovaries removed as she carried the cancer gene, and didn’t want to pass it on to her children. My bride is truly remarkable. I surprised her on my show with her Mom and Grandmother (also a breast cancer survivor) for a moment that was truly needed for her for her wedding. The experience of being with three generations of women that are connected to each other was contagious. The love they have for each other is indescribably powerful and I was honored to be in their presences, as their connection was infectious. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if more of us shared with others the energy of Kimberly? It would be amazing if the only thing in life that was contagious was positive energy and love!

  3. It is to bad the world does not have more wonderful people like you. You take these brides that you have never met and give them one of the most memorable gifts that can be given to them. If there were more people like you then this world might not be quite as bad. My daughters that are 11 and 9 never miss an episode of your show. They go on your website and they tell me all the time "When I get married I want David to be there for me." That makes me feel so good that just watching what you do for people make my girls feel that way. If by chance we ever meet I want to give you huge hug for thanking you for what you have done. Thank you for being the kind of person you are and God Bless You.

  4. I am currently awaiting surgery for the removal of both of my ovaries and the outcome of a biopsy after the surgery that will determine if I have cancer or not. I pray obviously for the best outcome but my future is still unknown right now as I write this. I watch your show all the time and DVR each one as it is aired to watch as many times as I want. You are a beautiful and amazing talent and a truly compassionate heart David. I find that your show is uplifting and gives me the smile I need these days to take me away from the reality that I am facing on days where tears shadow my thoughts and taint my ability to smile. You make me wish I was getting married just so I can meet you. Have a beautiful a blessed day!

  5. Kimberly was my teacher in graduate school! She is not only amazing in that she has overcome these obstacles with grace and dignity, but she is also an amazing educator (she also works at a public middle school in addition to teaching graduate courses) who lives for her students. I can't wait to watch the show!

  8. That's amazing. What an incredible story of survival. Cancer is a horrible disease - one that no one should have to battle or lose someone to. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to the episode.

  9. What a beautiful story. Having you there to make this experience a magical moment for her and her family makes it ten times perfect. I have cancer myself and i'm still fighting for my life, though im not a bride lol, i can relate to her. Being positive, having hope and wanting to live that's the only way to go in order to fight this horrible disease. Mr. David word cannot describe how much i appreciate you and the work you are doing. You are such a wonderful and beautiful person inside and out. Watching you i see and feel the connection and the impact you have with this beautiful bride. I take my hat off for you mr. David. May God keep on shower you with many blessings.

  10. I agree with Suzee, David You are contagious.

I want to be a wedding planner, every time I watch your show, I feel a little push on my back. It is overwhelming to watch all your work, it's too georgious and "out-there" but you always tell others to dream big.
I dream one day I can work with you and learn from the best

  12. David...you are a truly kind and unique soul. You are giving back to society. I could not stop crying when I watched the episode of the runway, high fashion bride who said "i love you" in her thank you to you at the reception.
    God bless!

  15. I just saw the episode and it was amazing. I admire the strenth and the sparkle that this woman has. The wedding was incredible and the use of pink in the decoration to simbolize "Hope" was an excellent touch. We human beings are so ungrateful and always take for granted what we have. Stories like this should remind us all that "there's more to living than being alive"..
(excuse my english.. it is my second language:)

  17. David, what a WONderful, inspiring, man you are!! I LOVED the show with Kimberly and Eddy. As I watched her trying on the wigs, I was crying, and later I thought that I could send her some of my shampoo and conditioner, I have been working on. I have been getting reports of hair regrowth. I have no idea if it would help chemo hair loss or not, but it would not hurt to try. I would love to donate some for her,if she is interested. You are THE most awesome man in my TV life!!!

  18. David,

Both my mother and I love your show. We'll even get together and make a dinner to watch a rerun haha. You have a talent that is breathetaking and undescribable. The beauty that you create I could never imagine in my wildest dreams, and it is truly a gift. I'm glad i found this blog so i could express how you've touched not just me but clearly an unbelievable number of people. A good friends mother once told me that not all angels have wings and halos, but that god places angels on earth to walk among us and create miracles and to give hope and to lead by example, only they don't know theyre angels. Watching your show not only is it incredible what you do for these brides, but what is more amazing is how much love, passion, and focus you give into each and every deserving bride as though you have known them all your life. I know this is a long comment but i just wanted to say I truly believe you're one of the angels walking with us and thank you for making your love contagious

  22. David ~ I was again touched by your show as you carefully listen to Kimberly. From the thousands of pink roses to the special ring you had made for her from your collection for being a breast cancer survivor were heartfelt. Inviting Kimberly and Eddy to join you this past March for the Cancer benefit in DC was awesome and rewarding. Thank you for doing such a fantastic job in making your bride feel loved♥
