Where do I get my Inspiration?

So many people ask me where I get my inspiration?  Living life is where I find my inspiration!  Travel, restaurants, movies, walking the street and so many other moments in life.  One of my biggest inspirations is New York City are the amazing Broadway shows!  When I used to do theater in school, I used Broadway to escape my day to day life, and just go see shows that were so creative that they really taught me how to open my mind and imagination to an entirely new level.  It’s so amazing to see what people dream up and then bring to life on the stage.   I have been quite busy traveling and filming My Fair Wedding that when I am back in New York City I find myself escaping to the theatre each time.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing three wonderful shows. From Vanessa Redgrave in Driving Miss Daisy. to Priscella Queen of the Dessert.  Yes these are two diverse shows but I was inspired by both.  Priscella was pure fun! The show had such a wonderful message about acceptance and embracing others and yourself for who you are with no judgment.  This past week I saw Wonderland, which is about an all-grown up Alice (now a mother) going down the rabbit hole (her elevator shaft in her apt building).  It was so creative and the costumes were just INCREDIBLE (not to mention the performance of the Queen of Hearts!).  Alice is now a mother and stressed with many responsibilities and the journey into Wonderland teaches her to loosen up and live life and have FUN, which is something I live by!  There was this wonderful lyric in the last song at the end of the show “ Nothing can exsist until you dream it first” that so perfectly described everything I believe in and strive to be.

I'm also super excited to be going to be see Spiderman next!  Of course, you never know, in my career… there is always that chance that a bride will request a Spiderman wedding…and I WILL be ready with ideas!

So live life with your eyes wide open so you can embrace unexpected moments because you never know when you will be inspired....because "Nothing can exsist until you dream it first!!!!!"

  2. Hello David Tutera,

You are one silly man. I mean it in the most respecfull and aww inspiring way. It is not everyday that a visionary gets a chance to share his world of whimsy with many and manage to maintain his composure with spiderman driven brides. That's just the crazy cool zany place we call life. I smile to read that you are cool with the theme and ready to brainstorm. You're simply awesome and inspiring. Cudos to you and all your team. You all are an inspiration to us all. I love that quote! "Nothing can exist until you dream it first" Cheers to all our dreams! Much Love Rocio

  4. David,

I share your love of theatre, I recently saw a production of "Gypsy" the story of Gypsy rose Lee and it was amazing. There is nothing I would love more than to perform burlesque like she did, in such a classy way. If I had that job, I would never feel I was working a day in my life.

I find the quote "Nothing can exist until you dream it first" to be the most inspiring of of sayings. I am a part time model, and it's brought joy to my life in ways I never imagined. I didn't dare to dream something so big, but pushed on and got so much in return. You are the most inspiring of people, a changer of lives, you come into people's lives when you are most needed and give them a bit of your generosity, inspiration, and own brand of God given magic. Whether it be a bride, a charity, or the life a cancer patient whose dreams you made come true.

Speaking of dreams, I want to share one of mine. I wrote you a letter entitled "A Letter to David, a pouring out of my heart." It was sent to your info e-mail here and also posted on your facebook discussion board. I know the chances of you reading it are slim. But life is all about taking chances and I am taking mine here. It would mean the world to me, and give me hope in my heart of hearts if you would read it at my humble request. I know you are insanely busy, but i'm putting a dream out there and as you say. "Nothing can exist until you dream it first."

    With Hope, Love, and admiration

  5. I must say it's wonderful fr people to open up their minds discover the power we have to create. As a poet I can understand that meaning, after watching your show I can see you understand that too even though we create our visions differently, me with my words and you with your hands. Also as an Event Planner it's amazing how when people come to us with wonderful ideas that they themselves can envision but not create which is why they turn to people like us. God has blessed so many but only few can manifest wonderful great creations. I dream of a chance to work with you maybe someday that too will manifest itself into reality.

    Have a great day creating.

  7. And I get inspiration from your show. You inspire me with your non-judgmental self. (I hope it's not an act. I hope never to read that you talk about your tv clients in a nasty way behind their backs.) It's hard for a person not to judge, but your acceptance and the way you strive to compliment everyone and bring out the best in everyone on your show is so beautiful. May God bless and keep you always in His heart. Wishing you all the best of everything.

  10. Hi Mr. Tutera,

I just want to say that you are such a blessing to so many brides in the US. I love watching your show because it just brings a smile to my face; to see how you make sure each and every bride you help has the wedding of her dreams.

I have always dreamed of having a beautiful wedding with the most beautiful dress in the world, to have a day that is just for me. Every girl dreams of being a princess for just one day, and marrying her knight in shining armor.

Even though I have met and married the man of my dreams, and been blessed with the most beautiful little girl; I still dream of the wedding I never had. I know that I got the best part of it, the best husband ever, but I still dream of having that fairy tale wedding.

Due to me and my husbands past marriages and finances from them, we have not been able to have an official wedding. Do not get me wrong, I am so happy to be married to my husband but deep down I still dream of my fairy tale wedding. I know my husband would love to give the world to me but we know at the time it isn't possible. Until then I am going to continue believing that my dream will come true.

I know your show is about helping the brides that already have their wedding plans and coming in and making them exquisite, but if you ever decide to do a show where you help give one bride, who has never had her fairy tale wedding or even begun to know when it will happen, the wedding of her dreams, maybe you'll think of me.

Again, I would like to say how God has blessed you to touch so many brides lives. I know you hear everything I have typed a lot, but it's the truth. I hope you continue to be blessed by God in your life.

    Love,
    Naomie Anzures

  11. I am a huge fan of your work. I love your show because you have the ability to get barely any information from the couples about their interests and vision and you still put together the most beautiful and elaborate weddings that they love! I aspire to be an event planner in the future and you are truly one of my idols. I was always curious about where you got your inspirations from, but this post was very informative. I also wondered how you had so many connections with companies dealing with every aspect of the events! Obviously now being so well known it is easy to have so many connections, but how did you when you first started planning events such as weddings?
