Sometimes I think I should pinch myself

This past Saturday nights My Fair Wedding was one of those events that will be with me for the rest of my life. It truly moved me beyond words. The guests had a blast – dancing, laughing, smiling - which was so fun to watch, but what got me the most was the moment the bride saw her groom and the moment the groom saw his bride. In that moment, I was honored to be in the presence of pure LOVE. I was humbled by their connection and to this moment am filled with the warmth I saw between these two.
Later in the evening as the (surprise) fireworks going off over the heads of all on the dance floor I was again taken back. My bride looked up, turned to me, smiled, mouthed “thank you” and began to sob. She came up to hug me and whispered into my ear, “Thank you for doing what you do; for making so many dreams come true and for making mine come true too.” I took a step back and watched her nestle into the arms of her groom and they both looked up and cried tears of happiness with the reflection of fireworks glowing on their faces. I tried to watch the fireworks but I simply couldn’t....I was mesmerized with the feeling of emotion all around this beautiful couple.
There is a course in life for everyone. Sometimes we aren’t sure if we’re on the right course, sometimes it changes and sometimes we wish to change our course but are at a loss on how to make that happen. What I do know is that this course, the course I’m on now, is the course I’m meant to be on… to bring joy, happiness, love and to make these dreams come true. I feel so blessed to be given this time in my life to do what I’m doing. No matter how tired I am or how much stress I sometimes endure, I am beyond excited each day to bring smiles to the faces of deserving people. For letting me help fulfill their dreams they are in turn fulfilling mine.
I will remember that night forever … it was so remarkable and I just needed to share this with all of you.
I love making dreams come true and am so lucky to do what I do!!!

Xoxo

  1. I believe that nothing in God's world is by mistake and that the path I (and everyone else) am on is the 'perfect' path for me. I know I have a part in making man kind/the world a better place, just by being ME...Shakespeare said, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and woman merely players." ... You, David, play your part and I shall play mine and between us (and the rest of the world) we will continue to help every live their dreams!

  2. David I absolutely love you and your show and I am absolutely determined to have you as my wedding planner...whenever that wedding happens. I recently had a moment like your own...I am a choral conducting student and I have been in college for the last seven years...it has been tough and I have wanted to give up several times. This summer I have worked with diverse groups of people but every time I get the same type feedback..."I love singing for you", or "Working with you makes me want to sing more often." I am overwhelmed with joy. How exciting to know that you are on the right path! Best wishes to you David and I'll see you later...at MY wedding :D

  3. From reading your blog, this just brings me back to when I saw Lou Holtz, he said "If you want to be happy for a hour eat a steak, if you want to be happy for a day play golf, if you want to be happy for a week go on a cruise, if you want to be happy for a year win the lottery, BUT if you want to be happy for life time make a difference in someone else's life." I always think about that, and to me he's so right. You're a beautiful person David (you might hear that often) inside and out so always remember

I watch your show and it brings me joy when I look at the happy faces of your clients. Pure joy is radiating from their faces when you show them that dreams really do come true. God put a spark in your heart and you took it and made it into fireworks . We love you and thank you for being you. I meet a photographer who is doing my daughters wedding in May 2012. He worked with you on the swamp wedding , and said that you were fantastic to work with. You are kind and caring. That you truly do love what you do and it shows. Thank you for being you and for making people who's dream could not have come true if it wasn't for your love and devotion to your profession.

  8. Dear David,
I love that I found your blog! You have no idea how perfect the timing is.I'm 61 & a widow. Found the love of my life in 2002 & lost him July 6, 2010. Such sadness I have never known but I also have happy news. My 31 yr old son Justin, my only child, is getting married in the fall of 2012. I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease when He was three & was divorced the same year. My son gave up so much as he journeyed to manhood. It's a long story. Perhaps it's the reason that up to a year ago he was sure he would never get married. But he met the girl of his dreams, Staisha & I just love her. She's just 23 & the sweetest. They just adore each other. He is the best part of me & my heart sings with the joy of knowing he will not be walking the planet alone after I am gone. We are Native New Englanders. I moved to TX in 2003 & he presently lives in Annapolis serving in the USCG out of Baltimore, MD. So I am trying to help them long distance with little resources.

I just saw her post on her facebook wall & decided to share it. (this is the timing I mentioned)
Staisha:wants David Tutera to plan my wedding for me.
    Her mother Suzanne posted this
Suzanne: you would have to wait until 3 weeks before and have a real crap plan, sounds a little too iffy. You could be stuck with a horrible wedding. Or you can foot the bill for him!

David, do I need to say I roll my eyes a lot when I'm around Staisha's mom? LOL. She is quite a bit younger & a tad snobby I'm afraid. David you do the most wonderful things for your brides & I see the love you put into each & every one.

    Staisha then posted:
I don't want to purposefully plan an awful wedding and he's probably too expensive, so I guess that just means we have to do it ourselves

    Her mother responded:
It isn't like we are talking about having your wedding at the local VFW. And you already have the best wedding planner EVER. ME!!!!

There goes my eye's again. I'm 2000 miles away. My best friend & Justin's Godmother (who worked in a bridal shop forever) has offered to stand in my place helping with the plans, but no one has contacted her.

Am I hoping you can help? I dream of it.
But I also understand there are restrictions as to locations & brides who need you more.
But if you have any connections in the Boston areas that perhaps you could share with me that would be amazing. And it would be a hoot to say to her mom... David Tutera recommended them as a personal favor to ME! lol.

  9. Hello, my name is Amber I'm 21 and engaged to be married on November 11, 2011. And I know it say no exceptions, but I think it's unfair to the other fans and brides that don't live in Los Angeles or New York! I'm a huge fan just as much as the other women, and know other women has said this before. Please! consider doing a special on my wedding! I really need the help! We have two little girls, both are working, and I'm in college! We're not trying to have a huge wedding, we just want it to be nice. And we can't afford most of the things we wanted and I don't even have a dress yet! I know the fans of the show would love it! Because it's not fair that it's only for them two cities. Please! Please! I truly would be internally grateful!

  10. Hi Mr. Tutera,

I just want to say that you are such a blessing to so many brides in the US. I love watching your show because it just brings a smile to my face; to see how you make sure each and every bride you help has the wedding of her dreams.

I have always dreamed of having a beautiful wedding with the most beautiful dress in the world, to have a day that is just for me. Every girl dreams of being a princess for just one day, and marrying her knight in shining armor.

Even though I have met and married the man of my dreams, and been blessed with the most beautiful little girl; I still dream of the wedding I never had. I know that I got the best part of it, the best husband ever, but I still dream of having that fairy tale wedding.

Due to me and my husbands past marriages and finances from them, we have not been able to have an official wedding. Do not get me wrong, I am so happy to be married to my husband but deep down I still dream of my fairy tale wedding. I know my husband would love to give the world to me but we know at the time it isn't possible. Until then I am going to continue believing that my dream will come true.

I know your show is about helping the brides that already have their wedding plans and coming in and making them exquisite, but if you ever decide to do a show where you help give one bride, who has never had her fairy tale wedding or even begun to know when it will happen, the wedding of her dreams, maybe you'll think of me.

Again, I would like to say how God has blessed you to touch so many brides lives. I know you hear everything I have typed a lot, but it's the truth. I hope you continue to be blessed by God in your life.

    Love,
    Naomie Anzures

"Listening to 'Sometimes I Think I Should Pinch Myself' feels like stepping into a dream where reality blurs with imagination, and every note is a gentle reminder to cherish the moments that make us question if we're truly awake. The ethereal melody wraps around you like a warm embrace, urging you to savor the magic of the present. Close your eyes, let the music guide you, and pinch yourself if you must, for this is a journey worth believing in."
